2003-12-30
The term REALTOR is a registered collective membership mark.
Once you've become a real estate agent, you can continue to strengthen your career by becoming a REALTOR, a member of the National Association of REALTORS. To do this you must first join a local board or association of REALTORS, and through a three-way agreement, you will become a member of the Colorado Association fo REALTORS and the National Association of REALTORS.
The term REALTOR identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS. This term lets the public know that unlike many other agents you subscribe to its strict Code of Ethics (which in many cases goes beyond state law). It also gives you access to the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), provides you with many networking opportunities, and offers continuing education which is invaluable. For more information on becoming a REALTOR, call the Steamboat Springs Board of REALTORS at 970-879-4663, or call the Colorado Real Estate Commission at 303-894-2166.
